Closed End – What It Means for Assembly
The closed-end feature means the IDC slot is capped at the back. When you press the 22 AWG wire into the slot, it bottoms out against the closed end rather than pushing through the back of the connector. This gives a positive stop for consistent insertion depth and prevents the wire from protruding past the housing – important when the connector sits against a panel or another board. No secondary retainer needed for the wire position.
