Cat5e RJ45 Plug, IDC Termination — 2-2120864-1
The unshielded black PBT housing measures 3.047" (77.40mm) in length and is supplied in tray packaging. This is a field-terminable plug — no crimp tool needed, just punch the conductors into the IDC slots — but the Cat5e rating means it is certified for 100 MHz bandwidth, not Cat6 or higher.

Cat5e Bandwidth and Compatibility
The Cat5e rating certifies this plug for 100 MHz operation — sufficient for 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) over four twisted pairs. It is not rated for Cat6 (250 MHz) or Cat6a (500 MHz) frequencies. The 8p8c form factor is mechanically identical to standard RJ45 jacks, so it mates with any Cat5e or Cat6 jack, but the channel performance will be limited by the plug's own Cat5e ceiling. For a Cat6 link, the plug becomes the bottleneck.
