What This QSFP28 Cage Does on the Line Card
The TE Connectivity 2-2170808-1 is a QSFP28 cage assembly — a ganged 1 x 2 configuration with an integrated heat sink. It accepts two QSFP28 or QSFP+ pluggable modules side-by-side, providing the mechanical alignment, EMI containment, and thermal management needed for 100 GbE and 25 GbE line card interfaces. Right-angle mounting orients the module insertion axis parallel to the board, a common layout for faceplate or mid-board I/O panels.
Integrated Features That Save Board Space
