What This Jack Does in the Assembly
The TE Connectivity 2-2301994-4 is a single-port RJ45 jack rated for 10/100/1000 Base-T and AutoMDIX — it handles Gigabit Ethernet with automatic crossover detection, so you don't need a crossover cable or an external PHY swap. The eight cores per jack map to the standard T568A/B wiring; the integrated green, yellow-green, and yellow LEDs give link and activity status without separate indicator components.
Shielding and Mechanical Anchoring
The jack is fully shielded with an EMI finger and a brass shield body — that means it bleeds common-mode noise from the cable shield to the chassis ground before it reaches the magnetics.
