PCIe Gen4 Straddle-Mount Card Edge — 36 Positions, 1.00 mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity 2-2372484-1 is a 36-position PCI Express Gen4 card edge connector built for the 1.00 mm pitch straddle-mount interface. It is the female receptacle that sits on the motherboard edge, accepting the PCIe add-in card's gold fingers.
Straddle Mount — Board Edge Cutout Required
This connector uses a straddle-mount termination, meaning it sits astride the PCB edge with solder pads on both the top and bottom board surfaces. The PCB must have a slot or edge cutout of the specified card thickness — 0.062" (1.57 mm) — to accept the connector body. The unthreaded straddle-mount opening (0.087" / 2.20 mm) provides alignment during reflow but does not add a threaded fastener. This is not a vertical or right-angle through-hole part; the card inserts parallel to the motherboard plane.
Locking Ramp and Contact Design
The locking ramp is the mechanical retention feature — it catches the PCIe card's mating notch and prevents the card from backing out under shock or vibration. The dual-row readout means the connector reads both sides of the card edge, giving 36 total signal paths in a 2-row arrangement.
