2-Position Poke-In Receptacle, 4.00 mm Pitch, SMT Right-Angle
The 2-2834006-0: Its defining feature is the 0.157" (4.00mm) pitch, which gives enough spacing for 18 AWG to 22 AWG solid or stranded wire to be inserted directly into the contact beam without a separate crimp terminal. The housing is moulded in resin, available in brown or yellow colour variants.
What the 4.00 mm Pitch and 5A Rating Mean for the Fit
The 4.00 mm pitch supports the 400V rating. The 5A per circuit limit applies unless the assembly is in a low-ambient environment. Tin contacts suit moderate mating cycles. The right-angle SMT orientation allows the receptacle to be soldered flat to the board, and the poke-in beam holds the stripped wire directly.
Wire Gauge and Termination Reality
This receptacle accepts 18 AWG, 20 AWG, and 22 AWG wire — the beam geometry is sized for the larger 18 AWG, so 22 AWG seats with less insertion force but also less retention. The Solder termination on the board side is a standard reflow process; the wire side is poke-in, meaning the stripped conductor is pushed past a spring beam that makes electrical contact and provides strain relief. No separate terminal is required, which simplifies the BOM and assembly, but the wire must be stripped to the correct length and the insulation diameter must clear the housing entry.
RoHS compliance is standard for TE's current interconnect portfolio.
