DuoPlug IDC Receptacle — 6-Position, 2.50mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity DuoPlug 2-284865-6 is a 6-position IDC receptacle in a red housing, designed for discrete wire-to-board interconnects. Part of the DuoPlug series, this connector terminates 22-24 AWG wire directly into insulation-displacement slots, eliminating the need for individual crimp terminals.
The IDC termination presses the unstripped wire into a slot that pierces the insulation and contacts the conductor — no crimp tool, no wire prep beyond cutting to length. The 22-24 AWG range covers common signal and low-power harness wires; the tin-plated female blade socket contacts provide a gas-tight connection at the IDC interface. A dedicated hand tool or press is recommended for consistent insertion force across all six positions — without it, partial insertion leaves an open circuit that vibration can expose.
