The 2-321045-1 is the #1/4 stud, 14-16 AWG member of TE's PIDG insulated ring terminal line, color-coded blue per the industry wire-range standard. The tin-plated copper body is 0.031" (0.79mm) thick with a serrated crimp barrel; the nylon insulation sleeve accepts wire insulation diameters from 0.115" to 0.170" (2.92mm to 4.32mm).
Non-insulated Solistrand peers differ in stud size and overall length
The PIDG 2-321045-1 is insulated and 1.078" (27.38mm) long; the non-insulated Solistrand 1377172-9 shares the same #1/4 stud size and 0.031" thickness but measures 0.855" (21.72mm) overall — the insulation sleeve accounts for the length difference. The Solistrand 1377172-7 uses an #8 stud and a 0.343" (8.71mm) outer width versus the 0.469" (11.91mm) width of the #1/4 stud version — stud size drives the pad footprint.
