Harness fit — 8-position IDC receptacle for 1.50 mm pitch wire-to-board
The closed-end housing blocks the wire from pushing through the back of the cavity, which matters when the harness is routed into a tight enclosure and the wire end can't protrude.
IDC termination — no stripping, but wire gauge is fixed
The trade-off: the wire gauge range is tight at 26-28 AWG. Drop to 24 AWG and the slot won't close properly; go to 30 AWG and the tines may not cut through the insulation reliably. For harness shops running a mixed-gauge board, this connector locks you into that one wire size.
Mating half — Mini CT header at the same pitch
The female socket contacts inside the housing accept the header's male pins. Free-hanging (in-line) mounting — no panel lock or board retention features, so the cable assembly floats relative to the board. In a vibration environment, a strain-relief boot or a cable tie near the connector body is worth adding.
