The 0.020" (0.50 mm) pitch and dual-row layout keep the board footprint compact, while the 0.043" (1.08 mm) height above the board means the plug itself sits low, allowing the mating receptacle to bring the total stack to 1.5 mm. That 1.5 mm mated stack is the key dimension for enclosure clearance — if your design has a 2 mm gap between boards, this connector fits; if you need a taller stack, look at a different member of the FS series. The gold finish also resists corrosion in storage or in equipment that sees temperature cycling. This is a SMT-only part — no through-hole option in this order code.
