22-position 1.25mm pitch vertical FFC connector — contact side matters
The TE Connectivity 2-84534-2 is a 22-position, 0.049" (1.25mm) pitch FFC connector with vertical through-hole mounting and kinked-pin termination. The contacts are single-sided and vertical — meaning the FFC cable must be inserted with the conductive pads facing the correct side. A flipped flex shorts the wrong row. The housing is white, glass-filled PBT (UL94 V-0 rated), and accepts a 0.30mm thick FFC cable.
Pitch and cable thickness — the two dimensions that lock the fit
The 0.049" (1.25mm) pitch is the primary footprint dimension — a 1.0mm pitch FFC cable will not fit. The connector also requires a 0.30mm thick FFC; using a cable outside this spec risks poor contact or actuator damage. The vertical orientation and single-sided contact mean the cable pads must face the contact side. If the FFC is folded for top-contact insertion into a bottom-contact connector, the circuit opens. Confirm the cable's conductor side before assembly.
