Board-Mount SFP+ Cage with Integrated Shielding and Light Pipe
The TE Connectivity 2007254-1 is a press-fit SFP+ cage designed for through-hole, right-angle mounting on a host PCB. It accepts standard SFP+ transceiver modules and provides the mechanical retention, EMI containment, and thermal management the module needs. The integrated light pipe gives a visual link status indicator at the faceplate without a separate LED assembly — one less part to route and solder.
Press-Fit Termination for Solderless Backplane Assembly
Press-fit termination means the cage's signal and ground pins are pressed into plated through-holes, not soldered. That eliminates the reflow step for the cage itself and makes rework straightforward — if a cage gets damaged during assembly, you can press it out and replace it without desoldering a multi-pin part. The right-angle orientation orients the cage parallel to the board, so the transceiver inserts from the panel edge.
EMI Shielded with Integrated Light Pipe
The cage body acts as a Faraday shield around the transceiver, containing the RF energy from the high-speed serial lanes inside the chassis. The integrated light pipe routes the module's link/activity LED to the front bezel — it saves a separate light-pipe assembly and keeps the panel cutout clean. Both features are built into the cage, so you don't need add-on gaskets or secondary brackets.
