SFP+ Cage with Integrated Heat Sink
The TE Connectivity 2007464-2 is an SFP+ cage with an integrated heat sink, designed for press-fit termination into a through-hole, right-angle PCB layout. The cage is EMI shielded — the metal shell and gasket contact the panel cutout to contain radiated emissions from the SFP+ module at the I/O port. The heat sink clips onto the cage top and draws thermal energy from the module can, which matters when the SFP+ transceiver dissipates more than 1 W and the air flow over the card is limited. This is a standard SFP+ form-factor cage, so it accepts any SFP+ module that meets the SFF-8431 mechanical specification.
Press-Fit Assembly Advantage
For the 2007464-2, that eliminates the reflow step for the cage — the press-fit pin creates a gas-tight joint through mechanical interference.
