90-Position Impact Header — Guide Right, Press-Fit
The TE Connectivity 2007781-2 is a 90-position Impact series header with male pins, arranged in a 9-row by 10-column grid. It uses the Guide Right connector style, which means the housing includes a keying feature that orients the mating pair and prevents misalignment during blind-mate assembly in a backplane chassis. The 0.075" (1.91 mm) pitch is the Impact standard for high-density differential-pair routing — each column carries the signal pairs and ground shields typical of 25 Gbps+ backplane designs. Termination is press-fit, which eliminates the need for soldering and allows the connector to be pressed into plated through-holes on the backplane. This is the preferred termination for high-reliability, high-layer-count boards where rework of a soldered connector would risk damaging the board. The black housing carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, meeting the flame-retardant requirement for equipment installed inside an enclosure.
Contact Plating and Temperature Range
The contacts are finished with 30.0 µin (0.76 µm) of gold on the mating surface. That thickness is well into the high-cycle range — suitable for the repeated mating and unmating a backplane connector sees during system integration and field service. The operating temperature range of -55°C to 85°C covers the thermal extremes of outdoor telecom cabinets and industrial enclosures without derating.
