The housing is black glass-filled nylon, and the shell is steel with a yellow trivalent chromium chromate zinc plating — the 200µin (5.08µm) finish provides corrosion resistance and a consistent ground path when mated. Order the appropriate male crimp contacts separately.
Mating and Contact Fit
This plug housing mates with any standard DA-shell D-sub receptacle housing (15-position female connector) of the same shell size. The unthreaded flange feature means it uses a standard D-sub slide-lock or screw-lock retention system — the hardware is not included. For the contacts, use AMPLIMITE HDP-20 male crimp pins (e.g., TE 66506 series or equivalent). The housing accepts contacts with a standard D-sub pin diameter of approximately 1.0 mm (0.040 inch), but always verify the specific contact part number against the housing's contact retention dimensions.
