What This Guide Rail Does in a CFP Assembly
The TE 2057592-2 is a guide rail accessory designed specifically for CFP receptacles. It aligns and retains the receptacle during insertion into the cage or panel cutout, preventing the connector from cocking or binding as the mating plug engages. In a CFP transceiver system, the guide rail takes the lateral load off the signal contacts during mate and unmate, so the receptacle sits square to the cage opening every time. Without it, the receptacle can shift under the insertion force of a 24-lane CFP plug, leading to stubbed contacts or a misaligned optical interface.
Compatibility — Which Receptacles It Fits
This guide rail is listed for use with CFP receptacles. It is not a universal guide rail for other form factors such as SFP, QSFP, or OSFP.
It is supplied in Bulk packaging — loose parts, not tape-and-reel — which suits low-to-medium volume panel assembly or prototype builds.
