Product details

It uses the standard DB-25 shell layout (3) with two rows of signal contacts, intended for free-hanging (in-line) cable termination — not PCB mounting. The steel shell with tin plating provides basic EMI/RFI shielding and mechanical protection for the contact interface.

What Contacts Fit and What to Order Separately

The AMPLIMITE HDP-20 series uses standard size 20 crimp contacts (signal type). For the receptacle side, order TE part numbers 1-66506-0 (female crimp contact, tin plating) or 1-66506-3 (female crimp contact, gold plating) depending on your mating cycle and corrosion requirements. The housing accepts 20-24 AWG wire with the correct contact.

Build Notes for the Harness

The housing is black glass-filled nylon (polyamide). The unthreaded flange (housing/shell) accepts standard D-sub hardware — use a screwlock or slide-lock kit for panel mounting. The steel shell provides a ground path when mated; ensure the mating plug has a matching tin-plated shell for continuity. The 25-position count matches the DB-25 layout, which is common for serial, parallel, and industrial I/O applications. For field service, the contacts can be removed with a standard D-sub extraction tool without damaging the housing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 207463-1 male or female?

The 207463-1 is a receptacle housing for female contacts — it is the female side of the D-sub pair. It mates with a standard DB-25 plug housing that holds male contacts.
