The gold-plated brass body and beryllium copper centre contact with gold plating give a corrosion-resistant, low-resistance mating interface. Dielectric is PTFE, which holds the impedance steady across the full -55°C to 165°C operating range.
The 18 GHz upper band edge covers most microwave links, Wi-Fi backhaul, and test equipment through Ku-band. The board edge cutout mounting means the connector body sits flush with the PCB edge, so the panel or enclosure cutout must align with the board edge; the SMT pads reflow in the same pass as other surface-mount components.
