SlimSeal 3-Pin Header for Sealed Board-to-Wire Links
The TE Connectivity SlimSeal 2106056-5 is a 3-position header with male pins, designed for board-to-cable/wire interconnects where moisture or dust is a concern. It carries an IP67 rating, meaning the mated pair seals against dust ingress and temporary water immersion — a rare feature for a board-mounted SMT header. The 0.138" (3.50mm) pitch keeps the footprint compact while leaving enough creepage for the 400V rating.
Current Rating and Wire Gauge Match
The current rating splits by wire gauge: 3.5A for 22-24 AWG, and 5A for 18-20 AWG. That means the harness builder picks the terminal and wire size based on the load — 5A per circuit is the ceiling with the heavier wire. The contact finish is tin, which is standard for sealed connectors where the tin-oxide layer is wiped clean on each mate, but it limits the mating cycle count to 30. After that, the contact resistance may rise above the design margin.
