It is the black silicone grommet-and-pressure-plate assembly that seals the rear of a CPC plug or receptacle housing where the cable bundle enters. The pressure plate is included in the kit — it compresses the silicone seal evenly around the wires when the rear nut is tightened, giving the connector assembly its environmental seal.
