QSFP28 Cage with Integrated Heat Sink
The TE Connectivity 2170703-2 is a QSFP28 cage with an integrated heat sink, designed for high-speed 100 GbE and InfiniBand EDR applications. The press-fit termination eliminates soldering, making it suitable for backplane and high-reliability assemblies where rework must be minimised. The right-angle through-hole mount places the cage at the board edge, aligning the module with the front-panel cutout. EMI shielding is built into the cage to contain radiated emissions from the 25 Gbps per-lane signals.
Press-Fit Assembly and Board Mount
The press-fit termination uses compliant pin technology to form a gas-tight joint without solder. This avoids thermal stress on the PCB and supports lead-free assembly processes.
