M.2 Socket for NGFF Modules — 67-Position, 0.50mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity 2199230-8 is a 67-position M.2 (NGFF) female socket designed for Next Generation Form Factor mini cards — the standard interface for SSDs, WLAN/BT modules, and other compact add-in cards in laptops, tablets, and embedded systems. The housing is keyed and includes a board guide to align the module during insertion and prevent mismating with the wrong key type.
The 0.50 mm pitch is the tightest standard spacing in the M.2 ecosystem — it packs 67 signal and power contacts into a connector body roughly 33.5 mm wide. That density forces a controlled-impedance PCB footprint with tightly matched trace widths and via placement to maintain signal integrity on the high-speed differential pairs (PCIe, SATA, USB 3.0). The 67-position count corresponds to the full complement of pins on a B+M-keyed M.2 module, supporting both PCIe and SATA interfaces in a single socket. The dual-readout contact arrangement (contacts on both sides of the PCB) doubles the routing density at the board edge.
