8-Position IDC Plug for In-Line Harnesses
It terminates ribbon cable or discrete wires with an insulation-displacement crimp — no wire stripping, no separate terminal. The gold contact finish gives this plug better corrosion resistance and a higher mating-cycle budget than a tin-plated equivalent, which matters in field-service or repeated-connect applications. It is the plug half of a multi-purpose connector system; the mating receptacle uses the same IDC termination style and position count.
IDC Termination and In-Line Mounting
Termination is IDC — the contacts pierce the insulation when the cover is pressed down, making gas-tight connections without crimp tooling or solder. It mates with a matching 8-position IDC receptacle; both halves use the same termination method, so a full harness can be assembled with one IDC press.
