The TE Connectivity MULTI-BEAM CE 2214913-7 is a 16-position female edge connector that mates with a daughtercard edge, providing a dual-readout interface — each position contacts both sides of the PCB pad.
Press-Fit Termination and Board Fit
Press-fit termination is the defining assembly feature here — the compliant pin deforms elastically into the plated hole, creating a reliable connection without a wave solder step. This is standard for high-reliability backplane builds where rework access is limited and the board goes through multiple reflow cycles for other components. The card thickness spec is 0.055" (1.40mm) — a standard 0.062" card will be too thick and may damage the contacts or fail to seat fully. The dual readout means the connector reads both sides of the card edge, so the PCB must have pads on both sides aligned to the same position.
