SFP Cage for Board-Edge I/O — Press-Fit, No Solder
The TE Connectivity 2227302-1 is an SFP cage — the shielded metal enclosure that receives a pluggable SFP transceiver module. Press-fit termination means the cage presses into plated through-holes on the PCB without a wave solder step, which is the standard build for backplane and high-reliability assemblies where solder rework on a dense board is impractical. Right-angle orientation puts the cage opening at the board edge, aligned to the panel cutout, so the transceiver inserts parallel to the PCB plane.
