EMI Shielding and Contact Plating
The EMI Shielded feature is integral to the cage design — the metal cage provides a continuous ground path around each port, containing radiated emissions from the high-speed differential pairs. This is not an add-on gasket; the cage itself is the shield. Gold on the mating interface also prevents oxide formation that would degrade signal integrity at 25+ Gbps per lane.
