zSFP+ Ganged Cage — 1x2, Press-Fit, Right-Angle
The TE Connectivity 2227728-1 is a zSFP+ ganged cage in a 1 x 2 configuration — two SFP+ ports in a single shielded body. The press-fit tail eliminates a wave-solder step and keeps the assembly compatible with backplane-style rework. The EMI shield is integral to the cage, not an add-on, so the port-to-port isolation and front-panel grounding are built in from the start.
Through-hole right-angle mounting with press-fit compliant pins. The press-fit pins require a plated through-hole diameter per the TE application note; no solder paste or reflow profile needed. The 1x2 ganged body shares a common ground plane through the press-fit tails, so the PCB footprint must include the recommended anti-pad clearance under the cage body to avoid shorting the shield to an inner-layer plane.
