The body is zinc with a nickel finish; the centre contact is phosphor bronze with a tin plating. Tin on the centre pin is a cost-optimised choice for moderate-cycle applications — the 500 mating cycle rating confirms it handles field-service reconnects without fretting issues, though a gold-plated centre contact would extend cycle life further in a high-remate environment. Mounting is panel-mount with a bulkhead front-side nut, plus through-hole solder legs for the shield connection.
Mounting and Termination Checklist
The shield terminates via four solder posts that pass through the PCB — these carry the ground return and provide mechanical retention. The centre contact is a single solder cup for the coaxial centre conductor. The bayonet lock engages with a quarter-turn — no torque tool needed, which speeds field installation. The bulkhead nut secures the connector to the panel before the PCB is soldered, so the board can be aligned to the connector body rather than the other way around.
