50-Position IDC Receptacle for Rack-and-Panel I/O
The outer shroud contact style and 4-40 threaded flange tell you this is a rack-and-panel I/O connector — it bolts into a panel or mates with a matching CHAMP.085 plug that has the same flange pattern, not a free-hanging latch.
IDC Termination and Free-Hanging Mount
IDC termination means the cable insulation is pressed into the slot, displacing the insulation to make contact with the conductor — no individual crimp terminals, no wire stripping. The free-hanging (in-line) mount suits cable-to-panel or cable-to-cable applications where the connector body floats on the harness, not a board-mounted header. The 4-40 threaded holes in the housing shell accept jackscrews or bolts to secure the mated pair against vibration.
