44-Position High-Density D-Sub for Dense I/O Panels
The TE AMPLIMITE HD-22 2311770-2 is a 44-position, 3-row high-density D-sub receptacle, designed for applications where standard 25-position shells won't fit the required I/O count. The high-density layout packs 44 signal contacts into a shell size that normally carries 25 positions, saving panel space without shrinking the contact pitch below what field-termination tools can handle.
Right-Angle Solder Termination with Board Lock
The board lock feature — a pair of metal tabs that solder into plated through-holes — takes the mechanical strain off the signal pins during cable flex and vibration. This is the same retention approach used in industrial control panels where the D-sub sees frequent connect-disconnect cycles.
15µin Gold Plating for Field-Service Reliability
Gold plating keeps the signal path stable through repeated mating cycles.
3A per Contact — Signal Duty, Not Bus Power
Rated 3A per contact, the 2311770-2 is a signal-density connector, not a power interconnect. The 44 contacts share the shell's thermal budget, so derate the total current if the ambient temperature approaches the 105°C upper limit. For a typical 24 AWG signal circuit, 3A is plenty of headroom for digital I/O, serial data, or low-power analog signals.
Mates with any AMPLIMITE HD-22 high-density D-sub plug (44-position, 3-row) using the standard 4-40 threaded insert. The shell size is 3 (DB, B) high density — the same footprint as a standard DB-25 shell, but with the extra row of contacts.
