3.50 mm pitch, 4 positions — the footprint anchor
The 2342071-4: This is a 4-position shrouded header from TE Connectivity, part of the 2342071 base series. The 0.138" (3.50 mm) pitch sets the PCB footprint and the per-contact current ceiling — at 11 A the temperature rise stays within the UL-rated limit for the housing material. The High Temp Housing (PA nylon, UL94 V-0) means this header can withstand wave or selective solder processes without distortion, and it holds its mechanical integrity up to 105°C ambient. Tin-plated contacts are cost-effective for applications with infrequent mating — think once-and-done harness connections in control panels or power supplies where the connector is mated during assembly and rarely touched again.
Vertical through-hole, solder termination
Vertical orientation keeps the header standing upright on the board — useful when the mating cable plug enters from above, saving board-edge space. The 0.075" (1.90 mm) solder tail length is typical for standard 1.6 mm PCBs.
