What this 2-position shrouded header does
The 2342078-2 is a 2-position, single-row, vertical shrouded header from TE Connectivity's AMP Connectors line. It uses a 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch — wider than the common 2.54mm pitch — which gives more room between pins for routing higher-voltage or higher-current traces on the board. Rated 11 A per contact at 300 V, with a tin-plated copper alloy contact surface. The High Temp Housing feature means the nylon body can withstand wave-solder or reflow temperatures without distorting — a common failure in cheaper headers. The UL94 V-0 flammability rating makes it acceptable for equipment inside an enclosure.
Through-hole solder termination with a contact tail length of 0.075" (1.90mm). That short tail means the header sits close to the board surface, leaving a low profile above the PCB. The 3.81mm pitch is a deliberate spacing choice — it allows wider traces or higher creepage distances between adjacent circuits compared to a 2.54mm header. If your board has 300 V between adjacent pins, this pitch helps meet the clearance requirements without a slot in the PCB.
