Hybrid Edge Connector for Mixed-Signal Boards
The TE Connectivity 2360558-1 is a dual-readout female edge connector with 34 positions split across 20 signal contacts and 14 power contacts — a hybrid layout that routes both logic-level signals and moderate-current rails through a single card-edge interface. The glass-filled thermoplastic housing is rated RoHS compliant and carries no keying or polarization features (Non Specified - Dual Edge), so it accepts a standard dual-edge card without alignment slots.
Straddle-Mount Fit and Board Prep
Straddle mount means the connector straddles the PCB edge — the board slides between the two rows of contacts. This differs from a standard card-edge connector that sits on one side of the board. The card thickness is locked at 0.062" (1.57 mm); a thicker or thinner board will not maintain reliable contact force across all 34 positions. The dual-row readout (Read Out Dual) requires gold-plated edge fingers on both sides of the PCB, laid out in two rows per the 10 and 7 positions per bay/row arrangement. The copper alloy contacts (Contact Material Copper Alloy) are designed for the wipe and normal force of an edge-card interface, not for wire termination.
