Board-Level Termination for 18-28 AWG
The TE Buchanan Termi-Blok 2383941-9 is a 9-position, single-level SMT terminal block on a 0.150" (3.81mm) pitch. It terminates solid or stranded wire from 18 to 28 AWG using a rising cage clamp — turning the M2 screw drives a nickel-plated copper clamp plate upward, trapping the wire against the top of the terminal cavity.
SMT Footprint and Board Guide
This is a surface-mount part — the solder pads are on the bottom of the block, and the wire entry is horizontal, parallel to the PCB. The board guide feature (molded into the housing) helps align the part during pick-and-place and keeps it from shifting during reflow.
Torque and Termination
The screw terminals use an M2 thread with a specified torque range of 0.5-0.6 Nm (4.4-5.3 Lb-In). The rising cage clamp does not require a wire ferrule — stripped wire inserts directly, and the clamp plate lifts to capture the conductor. The nickel plating on both the clamp and the screw resists corrosion in mildly humid environments, though the nylon housing limits exposure to solvents and continuous moisture.
