SMD Terminal Block, 2-Position, 3.81 mm Pitch
The TE Buchanan Termi-Blok 2383945-2 is a 2-position, single-level terminal block on a 0.150" (3.81 mm) pitch, designed for surface-mount soldering directly to the PCB. It uses a screw-driven rising-cage clamp to terminate solid or stranded wire from 16 to 28 AWG, with the wire entry oriented horizontally to the board. The black polyamide housing carries a 12 A, 300 V rating per level, and the M2 screw is torqued to 0.5-0.6 Nm (4.4-5.3 Lb-In) for a gas-tight connection on the nickel-plated copper-alloy clamp and contact surfaces.
Board Layout and Solder Process
The 3.81 mm pitch is the centre-to-centre spacing between adjacent wire positions — the PCB footprint must match this exactly to align the SMD pads under the block. A board guide feature on the part aids pick-and-place alignment during assembly.
Wire Termination and Field Service
The rising-cage clamp captures the stripped wire against a current bar as the M2 screw is tightened — no ferrule is required for stranded wire, though a ferrule can be used. The specified torque range (0.5-0.6 Nm) is narrow enough to avoid stripping the copper-alloy screw threads.
