8-Position SMD Terminal Block for Automated Assembly
It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp to terminate wires from 16 to 28 AWG, with the wire entry oriented horizontally to the board.
Screw Torque and Wire Termination
Wire termination uses a rising cage clamp — tightening the M2 screw (torque spec 0.5-0.6 Nm, or 4.4-5.3 Lb-In) pulls the clamp up against the conductor, securing it against the current bar. The clamp and screw are copper alloy with nickel plating; the contact surface is copper alloy with nickel-tin plating. This is a field-serviceable connection — the screw can be loosened and retightened, though the tin-plated contact is rated for a limited number of re-termination cycles compared to a gold system.
