The TE Connectivity 2406830-1 is an SMP plug (male pin) in the Blind-Mate Coaxial series, designed for high-frequency board-to-board or module-to-board interconnects where a small form factor and quick connect/disconnect are required. The gold-plated brass body and beryllium copper centre contact with gold plating ensure low and stable contact resistance over 500 mating cycles.
Mounting and Termination Flexibility
This SMP plug offers both surface mount (right-angle) and through-hole mounting options, giving board designers flexibility in assembly process and mechanical retention. The centre contact and shield are both solder-terminated, compatible with standard reflow or hand-solder processes. The limited detent feature provides a lower insertion/extraction force than full detent, which is preferred in blind-mate applications where the connector pair must engage without visual alignment and be separable without tools.
