The TE Connectivity 281709-4 is a 4-position IDC plug from the HE13/HE14 series, terminated to 24 AWG discrete wire. Termination and Harness Build — IDC on 24 AWG
This plug uses insulation-displacement contacts sized for 24 AWG discrete wire. The IDC slot pierces the insulation and grips the conductor in one press operation — no stripping, no crimping, no solder pot. For a 4-position connector on a harness board, that means a consistent termination every time, as long as the wire gauge stays within the 24 AWG spec. The right-angle cable exit puts the wire bundle parallel to the mounting surface, which is the natural routing for a cable that runs along a chassis wall or inside a control cabinet.
That means it is still in current manufacture — no last-time-buy clock ticking, no need to stockpile for a legacy BOM.
