Wiring and termination for field installation
The 282808-4 is a 4-position plug from the TE Buchanan series, rated 15 A at 600 V per UL. The 10.00 mm pitch gives generous clearance for high-voltage wiring in control cabinets and power distribution blocks. Termination uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the screw pushes a clamp plate down on the wire, not the wire itself, so stranded conductors don't cold-flow. Accepts 12-30 AWG (0.03-2.5 mm²) with a strip length of 6-7.5 mm. The plug mates with a matching header (not included) and is retained by latches on the non-wire side — the latch engages the header shroud to resist vibration in industrial environments.
