Wiring a 2-position power tap at 10.16mm pitch
The 282809-2: Two positions only — you are wiring a single-phase feed or a fused disconnect, not a multi-circuit bus. The 10.16mm pitch gives you room to land 12 AWG stranded without crowding the adjacent terminal. Screw rising cage clamp grips the conductor with 0.79 Nm torque — set it with a standard screwdriver, no crimp tool needed.
Screw termination and wire prep for field install
Strip 6-7.5mm of insulation, insert the wire into the rising cage, and tighten the M3 screw to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In). The cage lifts and clamps the conductor against the current bar — solid or stranded 12-30 AWG (0.05-3mm²) fits. Retention latches on the non-wire side lock the plug into the mating header — the latch holds under vibration, no secondary fastener needed.
