Right-angle 2-pin header for terminal block wiring
The 282814-2 is a 2-position, single-level header from TE's Buchanan series, designed for wire-to-board termination with a 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch. It mates with the corresponding Buchanan plug to form a terminal block connection rated at 15 A per circuit and 300 V. The shrouded sides protect the pins from accidental shorting during handling.
At 5.08 mm pitch, the PCB layout needs 0.200" between pin centres — this is a standard terminal block spacing, so the footprint matches most 5.08 mm pitch pluggable connectors. The 15 A rating at 300 V is the UL-listed maximum; in practice, derate for ambient temperature above the rated 110°C operating limit.
This header accepts solder termination through the 0.138" (3.50mm) contact tail length. The side interlocking feature lets you snap multiple headers together side-by-side to create a wider block without extra hardware. This is useful when the board layout needs more than 2 positions but you want to keep the same pitch and current rating.
