5.00 mm pitch, 3-position shrouded vertical header
The 282822-3 is a 3-position, single-level header from TE's Buchanan series. The 0.197" (5.00 mm) pitch sets the board footprint and the per-contact current ceiling — at 15 A the temperature rise stays within the polyamide housing limit. The vertical orientation keeps the wire entry perpendicular to the PCB, simplifying routing in shallow enclosures.
15 A current rating and 300 V voltage rating
The 15 A per-contact rating at 300 V is the power-handling ceiling for this header. The tin-plated copper alloy contacts are rated for the full 15 A at 25 °C ambient; derate above that per the UL current-temperature curve. The 0.138" (3.50 mm) contact tail length provides adequate solder joint strength for the wire pull forces typical of 14–18 AWG field wiring. Compared to the 1-2213934-1 (same series, 5.00 mm pitch, 15 A, 300 V, but 2 positions), the 282822-3 adds a third circuit for applications needing an extra power or signal line. The 1-2305909-1 and 1-2213935-1 are also active bulk-packaged siblings with identical ratings — the position count is the only differentiator.
