8-position 5.00mm pitch vertical shrouded header
The 282822-8 is an 8-position, single-level, vertical shrouded header from the TE Buchanan series, on a 0.197" (5.00mm) pitch. It carries a 15 A current rating at 300 V UL, making it suited for power distribution in terminal block applications where the mating plug inserts straight onto the board.
Current and voltage envelope
The tin contact finish is adequate for environments with limited mating cycles — gold is not needed here unless the application demands frequent disconnect.
Through-hole solder termination with a vertical orientation keeps the header standing upright on the PCB. The contact tail length of 0.138" (3.50mm) and insulation height of 0.472" (12.00mm) define the board-to-plug clearance — confirm the mating plug's depth and the enclosure lid clearance before layout.
