The 282830-5 is a 5-position, 1-level Buchanan plug for unshrouded header — mates with a 5.00mm pitch pin header on the board. The 90° wire entry keeps the cable routed along the board plane, saving height in a shallow enclosure. Rated 12 A at 300 V per UL, with a 12-30 AWG wire range and a rising cage clamp that grips solid or stranded conductors after the M3 screw is torqued to 0.68 Nm. Side stacking feature lets you gang multiple plugs on adjacent positions without losing pitch alignment — useful when a single header needs more than 5 circuits.
Wire termination and torque spec
Strip length is 6-7.5 mm. The rising cage clamp lifts a phosphor bronze plate onto the conductor — no ferrule needed for stranded wire, but the cage bite is consistent only if the strip is within that window.
ROHS3 compliant. Housing is UL94 V-0 polyamide 6/6, rated -40°C to 110°C operating range.
