The TE Connectivity Buchanan 282837-8 is an 8-position PCB-mount terminal block with a 5.08 mm pitch, designed for wire-to-board power distribution. Each position uses a rising cage clamp — the screw draws a brass clamp up against the wire, securing 16-28 AWG conductors without damaging the strands.
Side Interlocking for Multi-Position Strips
The housing includes an interlocking side feature that lets you snap multiple 282837-8 blocks together side-by-side into a continuous strip. This avoids a separate jumper bar for commoning — the interlock aligns the wire entries and maintains the 5.08 mm pitch across the assembly, so a 16-position strip uses two 8-position blocks without a gap. The M3 screw has a specified torque of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In); the brass screw and clamp are nickel-plated, and the contact is tin-plated brass.
