17.5 A per position — the current ceiling for a 4-position rising-cage clamp
The 282841-4 is a 4-position, 1-level Buchanan terminal block rated 17.5 A per position at 300 V. The pitch is 0.200" (5.08 mm), a standard industrial spacing that matches many existing PCB layouts. The screw rising-cage clamp accepts 12-30 AWG wire, covering both power conductors and signal wiring in a single block. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries an interlocking side feature, allowing multiple blocks to be ganged side-by-side without additional hardware. The M3 screw torque spec is 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) — exceeding that risks stripping the brass-nickel screw or clamp.
Wire termination and board fit
Through-hole mounting anchors the block against the torque of screw termination. Contact and clamp materials are brass with tin plating on the contact and nickel plating on the clamp and screw — the tin surface is adequate for the rated current and typical industrial environments, though gold is not used here.
