3-Position PCB Block at 7.50 mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 282844-3 is a 3-position, single-level PCB terminal block designed for horizontal wire entry relative to the board. The 7.50 mm pitch spaces the positions wide enough for 300 V working voltage and 17.5 A per circuit, with the rising cage clamp accepting solid or stranded wire from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries the side interlocking feature so multiple blocks can be ganged on the same pitch without gaps.
Termination and Wire Clamping
Wire termination uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp — tightening the M3 screw to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) lifts the clamp plate against the conductor, creating a gas-tight connection that resists thermal cycling better than a simple screw-and-washer. The clamp and screw are brass with nickel plating; the contact surface is brass with tin plating, matched to the wire copper for galvanic compatibility.
Board Layout and Ganging
The side interlocking feature lets you snap multiple 282844-3 blocks together on the same 7.50 mm pitch axis for a continuous multi-position strip — no gaps between blocks, no extra board space lost. Each block occupies the same footprint as the single-level 7.50 mm Buchanan family.
