The green polyamide housing carries a single level of terminals, and the 35° (145°) wire entry angle routes conductors at a shallow angle to the board — useful when the enclosure lid or adjacent components limit vertical clearance. Termination is via a rising cage clamp actuated by an M3 screw, with a specified torque of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In). The clamp and screw are brass with nickel plating; the contact area is brass with tin plating.
What the 17.5 A and 300 V Ratings Mean for the Design
17.5 A per position at 300 V is a power-level rating — this block is sized for a DC bus or an AC mains feed, not a low-current sensor line. The single-level construction keeps the block compact: two positions in one row, so the PCB footprint is just two holes at 5.08 mm spacing plus the mounting pegs.
Installation: Wire Termination and Torque
The rising cage clamp captures the stripped conductor against the current bar as the M3 screw is tightened. The specified torque of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) is the installation target — under-tightening risks high contact resistance and overheating at 17.5 A; over-tightening can strip the brass screw or deform the cage. A torque screwdriver set to that value is the correct tool for production. The 12-30 AWG range means the same block accepts a 2.5 mm² stranded power wire and a 0.5 mm² signal wire — but the clamp is designed for one conductor per position. For a daisy-chain or multi-conductor termination, use the interlocking side feature to add adjacent blocks.
