7-Position PCB Terminal Block, Side Entry, 5.08 mm Pitch
It terminates wires via a screw-rising cage clamp with the wire entry oriented horizontally (parallel to the board), making it a fit for enclosures where vertical clearance above the PCB is limited. The housing is molded in green polyamide (PA66/Nylon 6/6), and the contacts are brass with tin plating — a standard combination for industrial PCB terminal blocks where corrosion resistance in indoor panel environments is adequate. The M3 screw is tightened to a specified torque of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In), which the installer should follow to avoid stripping the clamp. A side interlocking feature allows multiple 282857-7 blocks to be ganged together without a separate jumper — the blocks snap together side-by-side, and the common bus bar is carried through the interlock. This saves a separate jumper part on the BOM and speeds panel assembly when more than 7 circuits are needed.
The rising cage clamp accepts wire from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG — solid or stranded — and the clamp material is brass with nickel plating. The screw is also brass with nickel plating. For a harness builder, the 12-30 AWG range covers both the power feed (12 AWG at 24 A) and the smaller control or sense wires (down to 30 AWG) on the same block, which reduces the number of different terminal block families on the BOM.
Voltage and Current Ratings
Rated 24 A at 300 V, this block is sized for power distribution inside industrial control panels, HVAC equipment, and similar 300 VAC/VDC bus applications. The 24 A per circuit is the current limit at the terminal itself — the actual wire ampacity and ambient temperature inside the enclosure will determine the practical derating.
