8-Position Side-Entry Terminal Block on 5.08mm Pitch
The 282857-8: It terminates wire via a rising cage clamp actuated by an M3 screw — the clamp pulls the wire up against the current bar, giving a gas-tight connection on solid or stranded 12-30 AWG without needing a ferrule. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries the Buchanan series interlocking feature on the side, so multiple blocks can be ganged into a continuous strip without extra brackets.
Rated for 24 A at 300 V — Industrial Panel Duty
Each position is rated 24 A at 300 V. That current rating is for the full wire range; at 24 A the screw torque should be set to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) as called out on the block. The 300 V working voltage suits control transformers, motor starters, and general panel wiring inside equipment rated for that insulation class.
